Today and every day since January, I think about how much Kerry has helped me out. Kerry is a life and business coach , who offers an enormous array of opportunities to grow in mind and spirit. My first workshop was on “What the Heck is Coaching”, which opened my eyes to how effective and powerful one can be in others lives by being present to them and listening. Ahhh May, what an incredible month. It is when the “Wedding Season” really gets under way. The days are longer, warmer and South Coast is such an outstanding place to get married. Some of the most spectacular weddings I have covered in the South Coast area were brought together by the very talented, organized and most importantly tasteful event planner, Wendy Joblon. This first spread represents a wedding that was featured in the Southern New England Wedding Guide because of the extraordinary back flips Wendy preformed to relocate the venue last minute due to last summers hurricane. The flowers were created by www.SaylesLivingstonFlowers.com and the reception was held at The New Bedford Whaling Museum. http://www.whalingmuseum.org/ The thing about an event planner is that they take care of the details and let you enjoy the party. For all the expense and trouble that the hosts must go to with an event it is a shame to not have fun too. That is the common denominator at every event Wendy has had a hand in. The parents of the bride and groom had a great time as well as the bride and groom and all the details were elegant and carefully considered. As the photographer it makes my job easy, everyone is happy!
Wendy can provide all the information you need to make for a seamless elegant affair, whether the weather is perfect or you are faced with a pending hurricane, she can handle anything. Working with talented people like Wendy allows me to focus on capturing all the moments of the day. Thanks Wendy!

This week I would like to put the spotlight on Caryl Sickul, my personal Yoga Instructor. I have been practicing at her beautiful studio in Tiverton for about three years, which was built by her architect husband, Doug Sickul. The room that she teaches in has a bank of windows on two sides looking out at fields and one side is a mirrored wall. This is a stunning setting to practice yoga. “The Rivers of Light studio” aptly named has immaculately clean bamboo floors with soft meditation music playing in the background. Then you have Caryl, who is the most qualified and accomadating instructor to personally ease you into the practice of yoga at what ever level you find yourself. For the individual that really wants to seriously improve their quality of living this is the place for you. With the profession that I am in, I spend close to 80% of my time as a desk jockey editing pictures and designing albums. The amount of lower back issues and neck and shoulder issues caused me to visit my Doctor, then a Chiropractor, then a physical therapist. Finally, I found Caryl. What a difference! She is the antidote for all that ailes the physical part of being forty+ something.

A fabulous wedding with two great people, Sasha and Erik. They were introduced to me by Megan, a bride I photographed back in 2002. Megan was kind enough to let me use her image for my Westport Phone Book Ad. Their family has a summer house at Westport Point. Now if your from Westport, you know that this is a piece of heaven saftly guarded by back roads, no road signs and houses identified by simple references, like near the Wordwell’s behind the Taylor’s old house before they sold it last year to their cousins. In fact, there is often no cell phone service unless you go to the top of the Nubble. (big rock at the tip of the Harbor) It is this sort of quirky old style way that makes a wedding here particularly special for me. I get a kick out of peoples reaction to the feeling of time forgotten.

I took engagement pictures at the Inn a year earlier which is a great opportunity to find out more about each other and get comfortable with having your pictures taken together.
